TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Music-making is a skill and passion that rests in the hearts of those who choose to embrace it. My goal as a piano instructor is to instill in my students the passion to create beautiful music. I accomplish this by teaching the technical and expressive skills necessary for playing the piano successfully; technique-building exercises, lyrical work, sight reading, ear training, individualized and group lessons, improvisation, singing, and ensemble experience. I promote diligent practice in each student and encourage students to perform for various audiences by providing ample opportunities for performance. I believe that those who choose to learn to play the piano will reap the benefits of music-making for a lifetime.

TESTIMONIALS
"The time my daughter, Ella, had with Rebecca as her piano teacher was second to none. Rebecca crafted the perfect balance between challenging Ella to grow in her skills, exposing her to classical music and theory, and incorporating music Ella loved to add to her love for the instrument and for music in general. In addition to weekly lesson times, Rebecca sought out ways to get the kids in front of an audience and practice their performance skills - whether it was in front of families at a recital or in front of the community. Not to mention, Rebecca is just an amazing person with a joyful attitude and a huge heart! Ella grew so much as a student and musician during her time with Rebecca and I highly recommend her as a piano instructor to any student considering lessons!"

"It gives me the greatest pleasure to write a paragraph for Miss Blumensheid's (Buchan) piano studio. I have known Becky since 2009, when she came to study at Capital University as a Piano Performance major. I have witnessed her success as an excellent student. She has been a sought after accompanist on and off campus, and through diligent studies and observations, she developed into an exceptional piano teacher. Becky's sweet and engaging personality makes her a lovable role model for the youngsters. Her patience and experience will ensure her asteady success in the teaching field."
